class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"\">PLA is characterized above all by its biocompatibility, which makes the plastic food-safe.<\/span> <span title=\"\">Low moisture absorption ensures easier storage and high UV resistance, as well as low flammability are practical properties for a variety of applications.<\/span> <span title=\"\">In general, PLA has good mechanical properties, such as high surface hardness, rigidity and a high modulus of elasticity (tensile strength), but only moderate impact resistance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"\">PLA is moderate temperature and weather resistance.<\/span> <span title=\"\">The dimensional stability is around 55 &#8211; 65 \u00b0 C, which means that PLA is the wrong raw material for thermally intensive applications and objects.<\/span> <span title=\"\">The myth that PLA is considered to be biodegradable due to its biocompatible properties is wrong.<\/span> <span title=\"\">Technically, this is of acrylonitrile, ABS is particularly resistant to oils, greases and high temperatures (up to approx. 95 \u00b0 C).<\/span> <span title=\"\">The most important properties of ABS are the high levels of stiffness, toughness and strength that can be achieved.<\/span> <span title=\"\">The overall package is rounded off by very good impact and scratch resistance.<\/span> <span title=\"\">Moderate weather resistance is one of the few disadvantages, and yet it is many times higher than that of PLA, for example.<\/span> <span title=\"\">Weaknesses are mainly found in the low UV resistance, which means that ABS quickly turns yellow and also becomes brittle when exposed to UV for too long.<\/span> <span title=\"\">Due to these properties, ABS is suitable for a wide range of applications in
